HOUSTON-Bob Pertierra, a vice president with the Metro Atlanta Chamber, has been hired as senior vice president and chief economic officer of the Greater Houston Partnership.

Petrierra, who was with the Metro Atlanta Chamber since 2003, will lead the Greater Houston Partnership's economic development initiatives as well as assist the organization's President Bob Harvey in its “Houston 2.0” $40-million fundraising campaign, according to the Houston Business Journal.

While at the Atlanta Chamber, he launched the MAC's Supply Chain Leadership Council, through which the agency helped recruit more than 130 new facilities to the Atlanta region, creating more than 12,300 jobs.

“Bob's experience in cluster development, particularly in advanced manufacturing and logistics, along with his ability to work with multiple stakeholders in the Atlanta region to drive results, is impressive,” Harvey states. “He will be a powerful catalyst to continued long-term growth of the Houston region.” See story in the Houston Business Journal.
