SAN ANTONIO-TopGolf says it expects to begin construction on its golf entertainment facility here in the first quarter of this year.

The Dallas-based firm will build the 65,000-square-foot complex near Interstate 10 and Loop 1604, according to the San Antonio Business Journal. The project will be TopGolf's 15th development.

The complex will feature more than 230 high-definition, flat-screen televisions, a restaurant, approximately 2,900 square feet of private event space, and 102 climate-controlled hitting bays that can host up to six players at one time.

“We are excited to add a TopGolf attraction to what is already a remarkable tourism destination,” says TopGolf Chief Development Officer Randy Starr. “As the second most populated city in Texas, San Antonio is a great fit for TopGolf as we look to expand our presence in the state.”

According to its website, TopGolf has seven locations in Texas: Allen, Austin, Dallas, Houston (2), and The Colony. Its other US centers are located in: Scottsdale, AZ, Tampa FL, Alpharetta, GA, and Wood Dale, IL. The firm also three locations in the United Kingdom. See story in the San Antonio Business Journal.
