IRVINE, CA-Rick Sharga, EVP with Auction.com, has been named by Inman News as one of the 100 Most Influential Real Estate Leaders for the second consecutive year. The Inman 100 report is annual list of thought leaders, power brokers, dealmakers and entrepreneurs who embody “ingenuity, strength, conviction, power, persistence and progress,” according to Inman News.

In addition to Sharga, the unranked list of 100 individuals features leaders from Quicken Loans, CoreLogic, Trulia, Zillow, Redfin, DocuSign, the National Association of Realtors, Realogy and top-tier brokerages whose work continually impacts the future of real estate. The list is compiled annually by Inman's in-house review and selection committee, which assesses reader-selected nominees and suggests additional individuals worthy of consideration. The entire list is available at http://www.inman.com/inman100/.

Sharga was again chosen among hundreds of reader nominations and selection-committee recommendations. The report stated, “With more than 30 years of experience in real estate, mortgage and technology marketing, Rick Sharga is one of the country's most frequently quoted sources on real estate, mortgage and foreclosure trends.”

Sharga is Auction.com's chief spokesman on topics such as the US housing market, mortgage industry, foreclosures and trends impacting the commercial and international real estate markets. He has been featured on CNBC, CBS and Fox News and in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today and many other financial and trade media.

According to Jeff Frieden, CEO of Auction.com, “Rick is among only a handful of industry veterans with experience spanning both technology and real estate trends. His contributions will be invaluable to the entire Auction.com team as we continue to drive a fundamental change in how real estate is bought and sold.”

As GlobeSt.com reported in August, the housing recovery continues pretty much across all markets, although the rate of recovery was beginning to vary dramatically market by market at that time, Rick Sharga, EVP of Auction.com, told GlobeSt.com. Sharga's reaction to the then recently released S&P/Cash-Shiller Home Price Indices is that there are no surprises in the findings.

Check back with the Orange County Page next week for an in-depth interview with Sharga about his predictions for housing and economic recovery in 2014.
