SECAUCUS, NJ-The Jersey Journal staged an editorial meeting and grand opening for its new offices at One Harmon Plaza here on Monday.

Hudson County's daily newspaper that has been in business for 147 years relocated to 10,000 square feet of space on the fifth floor of the One Harmon Plaza office building The publication had operated out of 30 Journal Square for about 90 years, according to The Jersey Journal. Its last day of operation at 30 Journal Square was last Friday.

While much of the paper's staff will be housed in the Secaucus space, the paper's reporters and photographers will file reports from the field. Richard Diamond, president of Penn Jersey Advance who oversaw the creation of the new office space and the move, said the move was necessary because the newspaper's Journal Square home wasn't suited for the rapidly shifting digital and print publication business.

“It's hard to say goodbye to an old friend, but the world is changing around us and it's changing quickly,” Diamond said. See story in The Jersey Journal.
