VISTA, CA-Affirmed Housing Group recently celebrated the groundbreaking of Paseo Pointe, a mixed-use affordable apartment community here.

The event, located included Vista Mayor Judy Ritter, and Affirmed's president/CEO Jim Silverwood, among others.

Paseo Pointe will consist of 69 residences: 3 studio, 21 one-bedroom, 24 two-bedroom, and 21 three-bedroom homes. It will be comprised of two, three-story buildings, connected by a pedestrian bridge.  The mixed-use development will contain ground-floor retail space in the north building.

Paseo Pointe has been designed to maximize amenities and value, making it one of Vista's premier family communities. Additional on-site amenities include central management offices, community room with kitchen, laundry facilities, computer room, library, outdoor courtyard with barbeques, ample green space, and a tot lot.  The tot lot will be located in view of the laundry room and other common areas to help facilitate parental supervision of children at play.  The community will also be a short walking distance from the Vista Transit Center, a stop along the SPRINTER light rail and the BREEZE bus line.

Paseo Pointe was designed by Studio E Architects.  The general contractor is Wermers; the civil engineer is Kettner; and the landscape architect is Darsono Design Associates, Inc.   The affordable community will serve households earning between 30%-60% of San Diego County's AMI.

"Paseo Pointe brings together the best in family-friendly design and amenities,” said James Silverwood, President of Affirmed Housing Group. “Everything—the designs of the homes, the orientation of the tot lot to the community amenities, the affordable prices, and the central location within Vista—will be ideal for families."

Judy Ritter, Vista Mayor, states, "We are so pleased that Paseo Pointe will provide high-quality housing and retail in central Vista.  It will be a great asset not only to Paseo Pointe residents but also to our city."
