ROSSLYN, VA-Nonprofit International Relief & Development has renewed 39,192-square feet at 1621 North Kent St., where it has based its headquarters.
Cresa Washington DC principals Tom Birnbach, Mindy Saffer and Dennis Tapiero represented IRD. Jeremy Henty, an advisor with Cresa Washington DC's Project Management Services, led a team providing project management advisory services to IRD.
According to Birnbach, the broker helped IRD conduct "an exhaustive search" of the options in Rosslyn, Ballston and Crystal City. In the end, the nonprofit decided to remain at its present location, and secured "a competitive seven-year deal", he says in a prepared statement.
IRD President and CEO Dr. Arthur B. Keys said negotiations yielded reduced rent, abatements, and allowances. Arlington-based Vornado/Charles E. Smith owns the 12-story, 230,000-square-foot building known as Rosslyn Plaza E.
