NUTLEY, NJ-Planners released three redevelopment scenarios that could produce anywhere from 13,000 to 18,000 jobs at the 119-acre Roche property located in Nutley and Clifton.
The details of the consultant reports were detailed in a joint press release issued on Tuesday by Clifton and Nutley officials. The scenarios involve uses such as: hotel, retail, luxury residential, senior housing, as well as office and laboratory space, according to The Record.
Redevelopment scenarios developed by consultants Perkins Eastman and Real Estate Solutions Group would take 15 to 25 years to finish. Roche announced in 2012 that it would close the facility, with plans to shutter it completely by the end of next year.
"No definitive plan or concept has been agreed to or accepted by Clifton or Nutley," the two towns stated in their joint press announcement. "The objective is to work with Hoffman LaRoche, and any future buyer or developer of the property to repurpose the site in a way that maximizes tax revenues and local property values."
