ORLANDO-The state of Florida will contribute $213.5 million toward the construction of an intermodal transportation facility at Orlando International Airport.
Florida Gov. Rick Scott announced the funding for the transportation project on Monday. The new intermodal facility will be a part of the airport's automated people mover complex, according to the Orlando Business Journal.
The South Airport automated people mover facility will enhance the airport's current north terminal capacity by providing a direct connection to the 2,400-space south terminal parking garage. It will also enhance a host of future multi-modal connections, including the proposed "All Aboard Florida" high-speed rail initiative. See story in the Orlando Business Journal.
