DENVER-DTZ, a leading global property services firm, has appointed Timothy Callahan and David Johnson to lead its new downtown Denver office.
Located on the the eighth floor of 1999 Broadway, the office will consist of six professionals. This new operation expands DTZ's presence in the greater Denver area. DTZ has a longstanding operation with 40 members of staff in Greenwood Village, CO that provides brokerage and corporate services to both local and national tenants.
Callahan and Johnson most recently served as managing principals for Mohr Partners after merging their former firm, Radius Commercial with Mohr Partners in 2010.
Callahan has 23 years in Denver commercial real estate providing transactional and strategic advisory services to his clients locally and nationally. Over the course of his CRE career he has specialized in healthcare, professional services, technology and engineering.
Johnson has completed transactions valued at more than $1 billion during his 25-year career. Prior to joining Mohr, he founded Johnson Real Estate Advisors, Inc., a corporate-based CRE firm with offices in Denver and Tampa, and previous to that, spent seven years with Ernst & Young LLP's national real estate advisory practice working with public and private companies throughout the U.S. With a depth of experience in the technology, professional services, healthcare and financial sectors, he has represented numerous Fortune 500 and mid-cap firms at both the local and national levels.
Associate VP Elizabeth Osborne; senior associate Bryan Fry; associate Alan Grimes; and transaction broker account coordinator Sarah Manuel will join Callahan and Johnson in the start-up of the downtown office, with additional new hires expected in 2014.
Callahan outlined the reasoning behind the decision to open a downtown office at this time, specifically noting the growing presence of the energy, technology, professional and financial services sectors in the CBD that the DTZ team will be targeting in the coming months.
"We feel very positive about the future of the downtown Denver market," he explained. "We're here to grow our presence locally and to expand our multi-market services and presence. Denver has a significant corporate base of firms looking at international markets, opportunities and trading partners."
Johnson added: "DTZ provides us with a substantial global footprint to serve our corporate clients coupled with a robust domestic platform of service offerings for our current local, regional and national clients. It is truly one of the worldwide leaders in CRE."
DTZ is a global property services firm with a presence in 52 countries, serving its clients out of 215 offices and employing 45,000 people.
Greg Schementi, EVP and head of U.S. Occupier Services/Tenant Representation said, "Our Denver office in Greenwood Village is a national hub for brokerage and corporate services in the U.S. We are very pleased to expand upon that success with the opening of the new downtown office under strong leadership and brokerage capabilities that will provide high-level service to the Rocky Mountain region as well as our national and global accounts."
