NEW YORK CITY-Rupert Murdoch, chairman of News Corp., has reportedly agreed to purchase the top four floors of the One Madison condominium tower for $57.3 million.

The 82-year-old CEO of Twenty-First Century Fox Inc. has gone into contract to purchase two units at the triplex penthouse at One Madison, which are located on floors 58 through 60 and another full-floor apartment on the 57th floor, according to Murdoch spokesman Steven Rubenstein.

According to Related Cos., one of the developers of the East 22nd St. tower, the units total approximately 10,160 square feet. The 7,000-square-foot triplex penthouse was sold in "raw condition," according to Related Cos., while the 57th floor unit was sold in finished condition.

A total of 75% of the buildings units have now been sold. Dolly Lenz, principal of a New York City-based Dolly Lenz Real Estate LLC, represented the buyer, according to Related Cos. See story at Bloomberg News.
