WASHINGTON, DC—Although there are still a number of regulatory hurdles ahead, the D.C. Historic Preservation Review Board unanimously approved on Thursday a plan to develop micro apartments at the home of the Washington Club at the Patterson Mansion.
The plan being proposed by Bethesda, MD developers Mike Balaban and Frank Saul III calls for the conversion of the mansion at 15 Dupont Circle into apartments that will be under 400 square feet, according to the Washington Business Journal.
SB-Urban, the Balaban-Saul venture has proposed to buy the mansion from the Washington Club. The review board viewed one new concept that calls for adorning the proposed six-story addition with translucent and transparent glass favorably. Previously the panel opposed a plan to convert the mansion into a hotel. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
