PALM BEACH, FL—Miami isn't the only South Florida city seeing luxury multifamily rising from the dirt. Jefferson Apartment Group (JAG) just broke ground on Jefferson West Palm Beach.
Located in West Palm Beach, FL, the 13-building multifamily project will include 282 luxury apartment units on an 11.14-acre site. JAG expects to open the doors to the apartment community in November. Ten three-story garden style apartment buildings with stucco exteriors, and luxury units with nine-foot ceilings, energy efficient windows. and stainless steel appliances, will make up the multifamily complex.
“We were drawn to the property site by its proximity to new, and under-development, lifestyle amenities including the new Palm Beach Outlets and new Whole Foods market on Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard,” says Mike Mulhall, senior vice president and managing partner at JAG. “West Palm Beach is a natural fit for the latest JAG delivery in Florida, the area is a long-standing market leader, with an evolving employment outlook.”
Jefferson West Palm Beach will be the latest high-end apartment building in the most active real estate development area of West Palm Beach. The luxury multifamily community will sit two miles west of the West Palm Beach central business district and less than five minutes from the Atlantic coast beaches, including the iconic Breakers Resort and Hotel.
The location is indeed enviable. Jefferson West Palm Beach is also less than a mile from the newly opened Palm Beach Outlet Center, a $200 million dollar project with 115 new tenants on 80 acres, including the under-construction 42,000-square-foot Whole Foods Market. The multifamily project is also less than a quarter mile from Interstate 95 and three miles from the Palm Beach International Airport.
Jefferson West Palm Beach is JAG's second multifamily property on Florida's east coast, and its fourth project in the state. JAG recently completed Jefferson Westshore in Tampa, FL. That project earned a National Green Building Standard (NGBS) Green Certification at the Bronze level in January.
Jefferson West Palm Beach is JAG's first ground breaking of 2014. The developer plans to build about 1,000 units across the East Coast this year.
The general contractor for the project is KAST Construction, which is also working on another JAG project currently underway in Cooper City, FL called Jefferson Monterra. The architect is Charlan, Brock & Associates. Jefferson Apartment Group is based in McLean, VA.
West Palm Beach is home to major employers in the fields of science and technology, including the Scripps Research Center, 3C Interactive, and Next Era Energy. Jefferson West Palm Beach will be located at 300 Courtney Lakes Circle in West Palm Beach.
