MIAMI—Designer Tommy Hilfiger is reportedly in talks to acquire the art deco Raleigh Hotel in South Beach and convert the facility into a private club and hotel.
Hilfiger has been discussing the purchase with current Raleigh owners David Edelstein and Sam Nazarian, who paid $55 million for the circa 1940 property in 2012, according to the New York Post.
Edelstein says that he and Hilfiger discussed the Raleigh Hotel some months back as part of talks concerning Hilfiger's new company, Hilfiger Hospitality.
“The Raleigh immediately came to mind as a perfect match. . .Sam Nazarian and (Nazarian's hotel group) will continue to manage the property,” Edelstein says. See story in the New York Post.
