ELDERSBURG, MD—Black Oak Associates says it is proceeding with plans to build a new 10-screen movie theater as part of is Eldersburg Station project.
The development, to be built along Londontowne Boulevard, also includes five restaurant or retail sites that lie near Home Depot, Safeway and Walmart stores. The project is slated for opening in the spring of 2016.
Black Oak is in negotiations with a national cinema operator, according to the Baltimore Sun. R. Dixon Harvey of Black Oak Associates, says he hopes to make an announcement on the selection of a movie theater operator in the next few months.
The Owings Mills, MD-based developer is redeveloping the former Carrolltowne Center into the $50-million Eldersburg Commons. Among the tenants signed up for that project include Walmart, AT&T, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Noodles & Co., Petco, T.J. Maxx, and Vitamin Shoppe. The project is expected to be finished in late 2014 or early 2015. See story in the Baltimore Sun.
