CHICAGO—Kehoe Designs has just decided to relocate from the Near West Side and settle near Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood, an area beginning to attract more interest from developers and users. The event décor and design company leased the entire 234,500-square-foot facility at 2555 S. Leavitt St. and will move inventory, manufacturing and employees from four facilities including their main location at 2108 W. Walnut St.
Jeff Girling and Terry Lynch, of Paine/Wetzel TCN Worldwide, along with Cushman & Wakefield's Brad Weiner, represented Kehoe in this new long-term lease. Cushman & Wakefield's Larry Goldwasser and Colin Green represented the landlord, Mack Packaging.
Officials were not available for comment by press time, but GlobeSt.com will provide an update shortly.
The company, which provides floral services, rental furniture, art and landscaping for weddings, corporate events, exhibits and galas, will now have easy access to the expressway and downtown, 19,400-square-feet of existing office space and 22' ceiling clear heights. The building was built in the 1960s with an addition completed in 1998 to house a manufacturing operation, but Kehoe plans to renovate the building into a new production facility, showroom space and office headquarters.
