FORT LAUDERDALE, FL—Locally-based Stiles Construction and Stiles Architectural Group and Gunther Motor Co. intend to break ground on a new Gunther Kia dealership here on April 24.
The project to be built at 1900 State Road 7 will total 425,536 square feet and will cost approximately $16 million to develop. Situated on a 7.75-acre site, the new facility will be located adjacent to an existing Gunther Collision Center. The dealership will feature a 50,000-square-foot showroom/service/parts area, 1,200-space inventory parking garage, 15 service bays and an 8-bay car detailing area.
The new dealership is expected to open in late 2014 or early 2015. Stiles officials say the firm will utilize a fast track construction delivery method, which has been employed to successfully complete similar dealerships. More than 100 jobs will be created through the 10-month construction period.
“Gunther Motor Company has grown so significantly over the past decade we have had to completely rebuild with brand new facilities,” says Jay Gunther of Gunther Motor Co. “This new state-of-the-art facility includes expanded parking with covered areas as well as a new showroom and service center to create a one-stop-shopping experience for Kia sales, service and parts. It is located next to our largest body shop in South Florida with on-site insurance adjusters and an Enterprise rental center.”
Stiles Construction and Stiles Architectural Group, which are designing and building the new Gunther dealership, are divisions of Fort Lauderdale-based full-service real estate company Stiles. It is Stiles' second project for Gunther Corp.
