WASHINGTON, DC—The General Services Administration is scheduled to issue request for proposals later this month for the massive project involving the consolidation of the Department of Homeland Security's operations to the former St. Elizabeth's Hospital campus here.
The RFQs to be issued in mid-April will entail the solicitation of a construction management firm to oversee bringing all DHC operations to the 176-acre campus in Southeast DC, according to the Washington Business Journal.
The project will include the construction of a 1.7-million-square-foot headquarters for the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The management contract is reportedly valued between $60 million to $90 million.
Work was completed last year on the US Coast Guard's new, 1.2 million-square-foot headquarters at the St. Elizabeth's campus. The project cost approximately $435 million. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
