WASHINGTON, DC—The long-awaited redevelopment of the Fort Totten Metro station in Northeast DC is expected to break ground this spring.
Construction is set to begin soon on the Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation's Art Place at Fort Totten mixed-use development. The three-building project will include 520 luxury apartments and approximately 104,000 square feet of retail space, according to the Washington Business Journal.
Foulger-Pratt Contracting has been hired recently as the project's general contractor. Art Place at Fort Totten is scheduled to be completed by the summer of 2017. The cost of the development has been projected at approximately $116 million. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
