ATLANTA—John Ferguson has climbed the ranks at CBRE all the way to the president of the Southeast Region. The commercial real estate firm just announced his promotion.
Ferguson has led CBRE's Southeast Region since January 2011. According to CBRE, he was promoted to president because of his “outstanding performance” in various levels of leadership, including new business development, business and sales management, market and industry leadership, client relationships, and people management.

John has consistently produced superior financial results while exhibiting strong leadership qualities and upholding our core values.”
In his new role as head of the Southeast Region, Ferguson oversees operations in seven market areas—Atlanta, Birmingham, Charlotte, Charleston, Greenville, Nashville, and Savannah—and is the primary relationship manager for CBRE's affiliate offices in Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. He has led the charge on the acquisition and integration of three firms in the past 15 months.

Ferguson has worked his way up the ranks. He previously served as market leader for CBRE's Atlanta office, where he was responsible for the activities of more than 500 professionals across the full spectrum of the company's business lines. Ferguson received CBRE's President's Award on three occasions in recognition of his strong performance as Atlanta market leader.
Ferguson is a former tenant rep specialist in the Atlanta office, where he helped a companies plan and execute their real estate strategies. Prior to entering the real estate field, he was president of a leading risk management and insurance firm in Atlanta. Ferguson is a graduate of the University of Georgia and resides in Atlanta with his wife and two children.
