BALTIMORE—MCB Real Estate, LLC has acquired a 20-acre parcel across the street from the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center for $3 million and has plans to build a mixed-use project there.
MCB, which acquired the Eastpoint Mall in February for more than $33 million, is meeting with community groups and others to discuss ideas for the property at 5601 Eastern Ave., according to the Baltimore Sun. If it moves forward with a mixed-use development, the plan would require a zone change from its current industrial use, says MCB Managing Partner P. David Bramble.
While MCB has undertaken industrial projects in the past, Bramble says the firm's proposal will be “something hopefully more significant.”
“We are very excited about the Eastern Avenue corridor and the surrounding communities. We see a lot of room for continued growth potential there,” Bramble says. See story in the Baltimore Sun.
