BETHESDA, MD—Montgomery County's Make Office Vacancies Extinct incentive program has its first taker, a Landover-based e-marketing firm.

L-Soft International Inc. will be receiving approximately $20,000 from the program to relocate its operations from Landover to nearly 5,000 square feet of space at 7550 Wisconsin Ave. in Bethesda, according to the Washington Business Journal.

The program offers companies a lump-sum payment of $4 per square foot if they either relocate  to the county or start up operations and sign a lease for at least three years at a property in Montgomery County. L-Soft currently has a workforce of approximately 15 employees.

Montgomery County Economic Development Director Steve Silverman says his office has received more than two dozen inquiries since the program was launched recently. "It's been a very positive response, it's been encouraging, there's a lot of buzz about it," Silverman says "That's what the goal is, to get companies interested in starting in the county or moving to the county."
