BALTIMORE—Property owner Anderson Automotive Group and developer WV Urban Developments, which are planning to redevelop the Anderson Automotive site at 25th and Howard streets, have parted ways.

The news of the schism between Anderson Automotive and developer WV Urban was reported by Baltimore City Councilman Carl Stokes, who represents the Remington area where the project is located. The 25th Street Station development was to include a shopping center anchored by Walmart and residential housing on an 11-acre site. Prior to the split, WV Urban had spent approximately $5 million in planning costs and attorney's fees, according to the Baltimore Sun.

WV Urban Project Manager Caroline Paff released a statement Tuesday saying, "WV Urban Developments is no longer pursuing its 25th Street Station project. As you are well aware, the project has been the target of numerous appeals and filings by opponents, which have delayed the project for years."

Paff added in the statement that the appeals "have contributed to an environment sufficiently uncertain that the relevant parties are unable to reach the agreements necessary for WV to continue. Though I am saddened by this outcome for WV, I am hopeful the project may be completed nonetheless, and that the Remington neighborhood will continue to thrive." See story in the Baltimore Sun.
