EAST WHITELAND TOWNSHIP, PA—O'Neill Properties of King of Prussia, PA has proposed to build “the largest luxury theatre built in the United States in the past 30 years” at its Uptown Worthington development here.

The two-story 85,000-square-foot “movie palace” would be built at the former development project at the former National Rolling Mills/Worthington Steel complex in Chester County. The ground floor of the building would feature a Cobb VIP movie theater, which would feature a wine bar, gas-fired lanterns, and a 60-foot tall grand lobby. The project would also feature an upstairs Cinebistro theater-restaurant.

Cobb owner Robert Cobb says, "spectacular movie theatres, exquisite service, fine food and attention to every detail allows us to outperform" mass market cinema chains. He promised 1920s "glamour" with modern “Hollywood splendor.”

The theater will join a Wegman's, Target discount store and other projects at the development. See story in The Inquirer.
