BALTIMORE—The parent company of the Baltimore Sun, the Tribune Co., is looking for partners on the development of 37 acres of land it owns in the Port Covington section of the city.

The unused land is located near the Baltimore Sun's printing plant in Port Covington. Tribune Real Estate Holdings started marketing two Port Covington parcels at 300 East Cromwell St. for joint venture development on Monday, says CBRE Senior Vice President Jonathan Beard.

The property is currently zoned for industrial use, but Tribune officials have asked the city about possibly changing the zoning, according to the Baltimore Sun.

“We don't ultimately know what will happen,” Beard said. “The Tribune wants us to make sure that we thoroughly market the property to as many people as possible. They have no predisposed ideas about who they're going to joint venture (with).” See story in the Baltimore Sun.
