WILLOW GROVE, PA—The Horsham Land Redevelopment Authority has pared down the list of prospective development teams interested in overseeing the redevelopment of the former Willow Grove naval air base here to five.

The five developers/teams that are looking to be named master developer for the project now must submit details plans for what they envision for the 862-acre former air base. The five finalists include: Catellus Development Corp. of Oakland, CA; Hankin Group of Exton, PA, a team of K. Hovnanian of Red Bank, NJ, Basser-Kaufman of Woodmere, NY, Oxford Properties Group, of Toronto, Canada, and Korman Communities of Plymouth Meeting, PA; Lennar Corp. of Miami, FL and Toll Brothers Inc. of Horsham, Pa.

A total of 11 companies or development teams responded to the request for qualifications issued by the authority earlier this spring, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The Horsham Land Redevelopment Authority said in a statement the teams were evaluated on a range of criteria that included “organizational structure and key personnel assigned to the project, experience on similar projects and past performance of the firms on each team.”

The authority expects to select the master developer for the property by the end of this summer. See story in the Philadelphia Business Journal.
