RALEIGH, NC—Commercial real estate services firm Newmark Grubb Knight Frank reports it has opened a regional office here. The new office will be headed by former DTZ executive Brad Armstrong.

Armstrong, executive managing director of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, has nearly 20 years of corporate real estate experience. He joined the company in 2014 from DTZ, where as an executive vice president and managing director where he headed its Research Triangle Park office in Raleigh. Prior to that, he worked for four years at Helmsley Spear. He will specialize in the development of tenant representation and advisory solutions, adding NGKF's regional and national expertise with financial and legal firms to the Raleigh office's pharmaceutical, R&D, medical and technology relationships. He also will leverage NGKF's advisory experience with major pharmaceutical and medical technology firms in the New York region, company officials say. According to the firm's website, the new Raleigh office is located at 4810 Glenwood Ave.

Brett Hunsaker, executive vice president and regional managing director for NGKF in the Southeast and Washington, DC, says of the new Raleigh office, "As part of the renowned Research Triangle anchored by three world-class research universities, Raleigh is a key market in the Southeast and draws many businesses and employees each year. By combining local expertise with our strong regional and national capabilities, we not only can cater to the traditional tenants in the Triangle, but also work with those in other industries that want to enter or expand their operations in the area."

In addition to Armstrong, the company announced three new hires: Doug Brock as a director, and Dan Thomson and Geoff Berrios as associate directors. Brock's expertise is in corporate headquarters, office and office/lab transactions and has worked on national and local projects in 25 states. Thomson has led many companies through workplace transition and integration by blending sound workplace planning strategies with traditional commercial brokerage analytics and leveraged negotiations. He originally worked in corporate interiors and workplace design for 13 years before transitioning to a career in commercial real estate.

Berrios specializes in tenant representation. He has represented clients from various industries in local and national projects ranging from corporate headquarters and offices to industrial assets in more than 20 states.
