Frieden joins several other prominent entrepreneurs honored in the past by the program, including Howard Schultz of Starbucks Coffee Co., Pierre Omidyar of eBay Inc. and Mindy Grossman of HSN.

As GlobeSt.com previously reported, Frieden was named a finalist for the award in May. Now in its 28th year, the EY awards program recognizes entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.

Frieden will now be considered for the Entrepreneur of the Year 2014 national program. Award winners in several national categories will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, CA, on Nov. 15. The awards are the culminating event of the EY Strategic Growth Forum, a gathering of national high-growth, market-leading companies.

“I'm incredibly honored to have received the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and I believe that it's a reflection of the dedication and hard work of everyone at Auction.com,” says Frieden. “Successful entrepreneurs can identify market opportunities and execute innovative business practices to take advantage of those opportunities. Auction.com will continue to change the way people buy and sell real state by deploying new technology, delivering innovative marketing programs and leveraging our in-depth knowledge of the real estate industry.”
