NEW YORK CITY—Cushman & Wakefield is taking over leasing efforts from SL Green at 16 E. 34th St., according to The Real Deal. The 22-story, 336,500-square-foot office building, located between Madison and Fifth avenues, is home to Cornell University's school of industrial relations.
Cushman's Joshua Goldman is handling the new assignment on behalf of the landlord, Wohio Holding, according to multiple sources familiar with the deal. An SL Green team led by Lawrence Swiger and Jeremy Bier currently handle leasing at the building.
Goldman declined to comment to the Real Deal and representatives for SL Green didn't respond to requests for comment by press time. GlobeSt.com was unable to reach the involved parties at press time. Watch for possible updates.
Nonprofit education and social research organization MDRC is the property's anchor tenant, with over 85,000 square feet of space on the building's upper floors, according to CoStar Group data. Staples occupies 2,000 square feet of the building's ground-floor retail space. The property is almost 98% leased, according to CoStar.
In 2011, Wohio sued its previous property manager, Loeb Partners Realty, in New York State Supreme Court to terminate Loeb as the building's managing agent.
