Alison Company Expands

NEWPORT BEACH, CA—The Alison Company has opened a San Diego office. In partnership with industry veterans Jon Cavan and Andy Graham this marks Alison's first reentry into the San Diego area since 1994.

“While previously we covered this market from our headquarters in Newport Beach, the opportunity to team up with such seasoned experts in both mortgage banking generally, and the local markets specifically, was too good to pass up” says Alison principal Jim Deal.

“Andy and Jon will give our company, and our correspondent lenders, a knowledgeable and effective beachhead in San Diego County” states Alison principal Carl Fuller. Cavan and Graham join a commercial real estate mortgage banking firm celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2014. “The Alison Company has a great tradition of service and some extraordinary lender relationships we want to bring to our clients” said Graham.

Graham has been involved in commercial real estate income property lending throughout Southern California and the nation since 1985. He has extensive experience as a commercial mortgage banker representing major life insurance companies, “agency” lenders, Wall Street CMBS lenders, banks, credit unions and savings institutions. Additionally, he has direct lending experience as a loan officer for Bank of America, Union Bank of California and San Diego local First National Bank. Graham is also an experienced commercial real estate investor with ownership interests a dozen commercial real estate partnerships with friends and clients. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, Investment and Banking. He is a licensed California real estate broker and has served as forensic expert witness in commercial mortgage banking issues.

Cavan has extensive experience in financing, developing, managing, leasing, buying and selling commercial real estate primarily the San Diego region since 1983. His primary experience is in financing commercial real estate. Upon moving to San Diego following his undergraduate and real estate program graduate work at the University of Wisconsin in 1983 worked for five years as a commercial mortgage banker at leading John Burnham & Co. and later worked two years for Dwyer Curlett before going out on his own for seven years as an independent mortgage banker under the Cavan Company. Cavan brings other facets of commercial property experience to the table with as he worked for a North San Diego County developer for two years overseeing three new development projects, several acquisitions, numerous leases and day to day operation of property management. In 2000 he partnered with Graham to form Cornerstone Realty Finance.
