PHILADELPHIA—NP International, based in Wayzata, MN, is looking to build three high-rise mixed-use towers on a parcel totaling approximately 8.5 acres at 23rd and Arch streets here.
The plans for “River Walk” call for the construction of a 42-story tower and two 21-story buildings that would feature a hotel, apartments, condominiums, retail space and community amenities at the Logan Square property, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The developer has been working with the Logan Square Neighborhood Association on its plan for several months and appeared before the Philadelphia Planning Commission last week.
The NP International project is just one of a host of major commercial development projects in the pipeline in Logan Square. Speaking about the River Walk project, Ed Panek, chair of the neighborhood group's zoning committee, says, “They have been responsive to all of the needs and concerns of their near neighbors. They gave them the opportunity to preserve as many views as possible.” He adds that that the NPI development is one of a host of projects totaling about $2 billion under consideration in Logan Square.
