CHESAPEAKE, VA—Wood Partners, an Atlanta-based developer, has announced that a $39 million luxury apartment building here, under development for two years, has delivered. In addition, the 280-unit multifamily community called Streets of Greenbrier, is already 81% leased.

The complex is located at 929 Wintercress Way, sited on approximately 13.8 acres. It is also next to the Greenbrier Mall. KBS, Inc. was the general contractor, and Cline Design Associates was the architect.

When Wood Partners announced it was beginning construction in March 2012, it estimated that the community would be open for lease in January 2013, with construction completed in August 2013. Before it began construction it had been under development for several years.

The company's footprint in the Mid-Atlantic has been expanding steadily. Last year the company broke ground on a $60 million project in Germantown, MD. Alta Liberty Mill is a 304-unit apartment community with 11,900 square feet of commercial space located directly across the Germantown MARC commuter rail station.

Leasing is expected to begin this fall, and construction will be completed by autumn 2015.

Wood Partners also broke ground last year on Station 650 in Alexandria, VA. That project will deliver 183 units.
