WASHINGTON, DC—As part of its effort to garner interest from contracting firms in the project, the General Services Administration has released renderings of the Department of Homeland Security's headquarters to be developed at the St. Elizabeths campus here.

The GSA issued request for qualifications (RFQ) earlier this month in connection with the project in Southeast DC. The plans call for the renovation of the Center Building for the Office of the Secretary of Homeland Security, according to the Washington Business Journal.

The cost of the renovation of the building that dates back to the late 1800s has been pegged at between $100 million to $140 million. The GSA has stated that it would like the work to be completed on the project by July 2017. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
