SAN DIEGO—Syska Hennessy Group, Inc., a global consulting, engineering and commissioning firm, says senior vice president John Passanante, will transfer to the firm's San Diego office to lead the overall operations for the location. In addition, he will be responsible for accelerating the growth of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and the Facilities Management/Commissioning practices (FMCx) practice areas in the western part of the United States.
Passanante has two decades of experience and has been with Syska Hennessy in their New York City office for over 17 years, most recently leading the company's global ICT and FMCx practices. During his tenure with the company, Passanante developed technical benchmarks and project management approaches that have been adopted throughout the Syska organization, and which helped position the firm as a recognized industry standard setter.
He will retain his role as global practice leader for the company's ICT and FMCx practices while providing overall leadership to the San Diego office. He will focus his energies on growing all of the firm's services in San Diego and throughout the western US region. He will continue to serve key client relationships that he built in NY through regular communication and frequent visits to the New York City office.
“I'm looking forward to my new role leading the San Diego office for Syska and I'm excited about working with this talented team,” Passanante adds. “In looking to accelerate growth for this office as well as the ICT/FMcx West Region operation, my strategy is to tap into the same approach that allowed me to be successful throughout my career: organizing operations, focusing on technical quality, implementing project management processes, improving communications, and developing new and existing client relationships.”
He adds, “In my leadership role, I developed a leadership and team structure that allows me to focus my attention across all our clients. In addition, I entrusted responsibility to these key leadership teams and they will ensure that our client commitments and overall operations continue to run smoothly. This leadership team and structure will continue to be a hallmark in my new role.”
Passanante holds a Bachelor of Engineering, Mechanical Engineering from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
Gary Brennen, co-president, adds “John's current global role and the key internal relationships he has built will enable him to effectively coordinate support from leaders and experts throughout the firm as he steps up growth and development in the San Diego office.”
“John is an extraordinary leader and the ideal candidate for this role,” said Cyrus Izzo, co-president of Syska Hennessy Group. “His track record and his unparalleled insight into our industry will be the catalyst for building momentum in San Diego and the entire west region for Syska Hennessy Group.”
