LOS ANGELES—Benjamin J. Kim has joined Allen Matkins as a labor and employment partner in the firm's litigation department. Kim will be a member of the firm's labor and employment and class action groups.

My clients will appreciate the firm's services in other practice areas with attorneys who have the same core values.”
Kim has his JD from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. In his seasoned career, he has represented high-profile clients across a diverse range of industries, including energy and utilities, technology, digital media, entertainment, manufacturing, logistics, hospitality and construction. “I have represented small family-owned local businesses and large multinational conglomerates. While they are diverse in many ways, these clients, however, share a common perspective,” says Kim. “They appreciate the value of top-level services and are not necessarily fixated on getting the lowest possible hourly rate in a crowded labor and employment legal market.”
Kim hopes to continue to grow the firm's California labor and employment practice, especially in Los Angeles with what he says is a “focus on quality over quantity.” “I also want clients to appreciate all of the services that my colleagues, who share common core values, have to offer,” he adds. “Finally, I want to be a value-added labor and employment resource in Los Angeles and in California for companies who already are Allen Matkins clients.”
Allen Matkins has hired 11 new lateral attorneys since January 2013. Recent hires include Elizabeth Clark, who joined the firm in February of this year as senior counsel in the firm's land practice group. She is based in the San Francisco office.
