NEW YORK CITY—Bank of Tokyo/Mitsubishi is about to lease about 303,112 square feet at the base of the McGraw Hill building at 1221 Ave. of the Americas, the New York Post reports. The vacant space on the sixth through 10th floors was occupied previously by Société Générale and has an asking rent of $75 per foot.
The bank is currently located in 1251 Ave. of the Americas, and sources say it will move in from sites that include 1633 Broadway.
Fred Smith of Cushman & Wakefield reportedly is representing the tenant, while a C&W group that includes John Cefaly, Gus Field, Rob Lowe, Michael Burgio, David-Jonathan Fales and David Berke is representing the building, the Post reports. A spokesman for the firm declined to comment to GlobeSt.com.
Ed Guiltinan of the Rockefeller Group is said to have worked in-house for the ownership, which includes the Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board. Rockefeller representatives did not return a request for comment made by GlobeSt.com by presstime.
When this deal is completed, more than 1 million square feet will have been leased over the past year in this 2.5 million-square-foot tower.
