WASHINGTON, DC—The House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee did not have any lease prospectuses by the General Services Administration to act upon at its markup session on Wednesday, but the agency says some large deals are in the pipeline.

The GSA has worked through all of its large leases for the federal 2014 fiscal year and is just now seeking Congressional approval for leases in 2015, according to GSA spokeswoman Mafara Hobson. The GSA submitted the first of its 2015 prospectuses to Congress last week, and one calls for approximately 500,000 square feet for the U.S. State Department, according to the Washington Business Journal.

While the T&I Committee did not act on any GSA lease prospectuses, the committee did mark up more than two dozen construction and renovation projects, including upgrades to the John Wesley Powell Building in Reston, continued renovations to GSA's headquarters building, and improvements to a number of other federal properties in the DC area.
