ARLINGTON, VA—The largest property owner here—Vornado Realty Trust—is looking to redevelop a section of Crystal City with a mixed-use development featuring one office and one residential tower.
The 223 23rd plan was submitted last October, however Arlington's Site Plan Review Committee will not begin its deliberations on the project until the early fall, according to the Washington Business Journal.
Vornado's redevelopment proposal calls for the replacement of an existing office building at 223 23rd St. S with a 25-story, 658,365-square-foot office building, a 28-story, 353-unit residential building, a 3,000-square-foot pocket park fronting Crystal Drive and underground parking.
The Paramus, NJ-based developer intends to include 28,675 square feet of retail in the office building, and 1,754 square feet of retail in the residential building. In the future, the office building at 320 23rd St. S would be replaced with a new 13,000-square-foot 23rd Street Plaza, located near the new residential tower.
