MILLERSVILLE, MD—Houston-based Steak 'n Shake will open its first of an initial 10 planned restaurants in the state this September.

The steakburger chain's first Maryland restaurant will be located at 8100 Veterans Highway, according to the Washington Business Journal. The property is owned by Khalil Ahmad of Hanover, MD, who owns Steak 'n Shake franchise rights for the state.

Other planned locations are in Annapolis, Arundel Mills, Bowie, Catonsville, Crofton, Owings Mills, Silver Spring and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.

The restaurants will total approximately 5,000 square feet and cost about $3 million to open. By 2022, he plans to open 37 restaurants in the state of Maryland. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
