NJ Firm to Relocate to Charlotte, NC

ELMWOOD PARK, NJ—Packing firm Sealed Air Corp. announced on Wednesday its plans to relocate its goal headquarters from here to a modern, state-of-the art, environmentally-sustainable campus in Charlotte, NC that will become the headquarters for its divisions, research & development facilities, and corporate offices.

The company says that within the next three years it anticipates approximately 1,300 jobs will be relocated to Charlotte from its current headquarters in Elmwood Park and all or part of its facilities in Saddle Brook, NJ; Danbury, CT; Racine, WI; and, Duncan and Greenville, SC. The company will also relocate a small number of employees from other locations. The company's current corporate headquarters is located at 200 Riverfront Blvd. in Elmwood Park.

In a report in the Charlotte Business Journal, state incentives for the Sealed Air relocation were approved on Wednesday including a state grant totaling $36 million over 12 years and a One N.C. grant of $2.5 million. Sealed Air is reportedly looking in southwest Charlotte for a multi-building campus.

Peribere, president and CEO of Sealed Air.

Sealed Air will continue to maintain manufacturing in its Saddle Brook, NJ and Danbury, CT facilities, as well as certain operations in Duncan, SC. The company's Simpsonville and Seneca, SC sites will also continue their manufacturing operations.
