WASHINGTON, DC—The General Services Administration has initiated a search to facilitate the Justice Department's consolidation program.
The agency is looking to lease approximately 839,000 square feet in the District. The agency's current leased holdings total more than 1 million square feet. The agency leases space in four buildings and would be shedding about 206,230 square feet with the new lease. The search is restricted to the District's Central Employment Area, which as of 2012 includes the Capitol Riverfront and the St. Elizabeths East campus.
The Justice Department now leases space at 600 E St. NW, 1425 New York Ave. NW, 601 D St. NW and 1331 Pennsylvania Ave. NW. The first of the agency's leases at 600 E St. NW expired in February. The other leases expire in December 2014, August 2015 and December 2015. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
