ALEXANDRIA, VA—The JBG Cos. is proposing a massive mixed-use development as part of the first phase of its Town Center development to be built in the Beauregard community here.
The Chevy Chase, MD-based company is proposing 1,090 multifamily units in four, six-story buildings, 27 townhomes, 20 stacked townhomes, and 150,000 square feet of retail. Of the existing 800 units in the Town Center neighborhood, 381 would be demolished in the first phase, according to the Washington Business Journal. The first phase of the development would also include more than 600 parking spaces.
The plan, which was submitted to the city last month, was scheduled to be discussed at last night's Beauregard Design Advisory Committee. JBG expects construction will not begin on the project until late 2015 at the earliest.
The project's second phase could include additional residential development, as well as retail, a hotel and approximately 400,000 square feet of office space. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
