FORT LAUDERDALE, FL—Terra Group just snapped up 121 acres of an unused golf course next to a Broward County golf country club in Weston, FL. The acquisition marks the firm's first project in Weston and its second in Broward County. The first was Terra Ranches in Southwest Ranches, FL.
“Weston is a vibrant, evolving city boasting some of the best schools and parks in South Florida,” says David Martin, president and co-founder of Terra. “As the community continues to evolve and housing expectations are raised, there is an inherent need for new residential development which the area has not seen in well over a decade.”
Terra is best known for projects like Glass in Miami Beach, Grove at Grand Bay and Park Grove in Coconut Grove, and Modern Doral and Atlantic 15 in Sunny Isles Beach. The firm will redevelop the site to house 125 luxury single-family homes in half-acre to acre lot sizes, ranging in size from 3,800 to 6,800 square feet.
Terra will divide the homes across two privately-gated communities—with 56 on the north end and 69 on the south end of the property. One hundred homes will sit on a budding system of lakes. Residents can choose to purchase a golf country club package.
Construction is set to begin in the fourth quarter of 2014. Terra expects to have eight model homes, six two-story models and two one-story models, by second quarter of 2015.
