PHILADELPHIA—Cable giant Comcast Corp. is reportedly looking for additional space in downtown Philadelphia as it awaits the development of its massive new Comcast Innovation & Technology Center.

The company is searching the Center City market for between 65,000 square feet to 75,000 square feet of additional office space, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Comcast, which is also looking for the option to expand, will likely be reviewing space at a number of high-profile downtown office buildings such as: 10 Penn Center, 11 Penn Center, Centre Square and Two Logan Square.

The need for the additional space is due to the company's growth and not connected with its proposed merger with rival Time Warner Cable. Comcast currently leases a total of nearly 300,000 square feet at Three Logan Square and Centre Square office buildings.

It has committed to occupy approximately 1 million square feet of space at the new Comcast Innovation & Technology Center, which is expected to be delivered at the end of 2018. See story in the Philadelphia Business Journal.
