BALTIMORE—Beatty Development, the developer of the Harbor Point project here, says it plans to break ground early next year on the next building at its complex, a 290,000-square-foot residential property.

Late last week Marco Greenberg, vice president of development for Beatty, says the new 18-story building would feature 285 rental apartments. The building will be located at the site of a parking lot west of the Ferndale Fence & Awning building and behind Thames Street Wharf, according to the Baltimore Sun.

The first Harbor Point building, the Thames Street Wharf offices, opened in 2010. Beatty Development announced its sale for $89 million in April. Construction of the 20-story Exelon headquarters office building began in the spring of this year at the 27-acre Harbor Point site.

Greenberg says he hopes to have the apartments available in the summer of 2016, which would coincide with the scheduled completion of the Exelon building. See story in the Baltimore Sun.
