PLAYA VISTA, CA—The Runway at Playa Vista has signed leases with eight new retail and restaurant tenants. The mixed-use property is currently under construction and has an opening date scheduled for early 2015.

The eight new tenants include eateries 800 Degrees, Urban Plates, ROC Kitchen, N'Ice Cream and Starbucks as well as retailers and service providers Studio MDR, 18/8 Fine Men's Salons and Varnish Lab. At least 10 other tenants have also signed leases at the property. All of the tenants are expected to open for business by the grand opening date in 2015; however, some retailers will open by the end of the year for holiday shopping season. As GlobeSt.com reported earlier, the other tenants include Lyfe Kitchen, Panini Café, Hopdoddy Burger Bar and Sol Cocina—as well as two banks—Wells Fargo and Chase.

The Runway at Playa Vista is a development project from Lincoln Property, Phoenix Property Co. and Paragon Commercial Group. In addition to its 420 luxury apartment units, the property has 220,000 square feet of retail space and 30,000 square feet of office space. Whole Foods Market will anchor the retail portion of the development, and is slated to open in with the property early next year.

With this new round of leases, the property is now nearly fully leased. CBRE's Zachary Card is handling the marketing efforts for the property. We were not able to get a comment before the publication of the story.
