DORAL, FL—Miller Construction Co. of Fort Lauderdale reports it has begun construction on the mixed-use Gateway Center Doral project here.

The two building complex being developed by DBH Properties Ltd., totals 84,000 square feet of retail and high-end boutique office space and is located on the NW 87th Ave. retail and restaurant corridor.

The property fronting on NW 87th Avenue at the intersection of NW 21st Terrace will include approximately 43,000 square feet of office space above ground-floor retail. A one-story tilt-wall building will provide additional high-profile retail space for the development.

Completion of the $9.5-million construction project is scheduled for spring 2015. DYNAMICA ARCHITECTURE + INTERIOR DESIGN created the walkable, mixed-use plan.

“With two million square feet of new office space approved in the city and more than 1,000 residential units being built close to the site, it's an ideal time for DBH Properties to bring Gateway Center Doral's retail and office space to market,” says Miller Construction Senior Vice President Brian Sudduth.

High Street Retail USA is leasing retail space for the complex and Fairchild Partners will handle the office component of the development.
