BOSTON—Property services company DTZ reports that Chris McMahon and Peter Bean have left Newmark Grubb Knight Frank and have joined the firm as senior vice president and vice president in brokerage, respectively.

McMahon is a veteran commercial real estate professional with more than 19 years of industry experience on both the tenant representation and agency sides of the business. He began his professional career as a residential and commercial appraiser for five years and later entered commercial brokerage. Most recently, he was senior managing director at Newmark Grubb Knight Frank from 2011-2014.

Over the last 19 years, he has represented tenants such as the Boston Architectural College, Securitas (Pinkerton's) and Vinfen, as well as landlords Brookwood Financial, Koda Ventures and The Boston Wharf Co.

“As we look to grow the business in New England, across the U.S., and internationally, the expansion of our broker resources in Boston is a critical component of our overall management strategy,” says DTZ co-managing director John Hennessey. “We have worked with Chris for many years, and we know that his experience and abilities will further the overall strategy.” Cathy Thompson also serves as co-managing director of DTZ's Boston office, which services the Greater New England region.

Bean joins DTZ after serving as senior managing director with Newmark Grubb Knight Frank in Boston where he specialized in both tenant and landlord representation. In April 2001, he joined GVA Thompson Hennessey and Partners, a leading local real estate firm who merged with Newmark Knight Frank in January of 2010, where he provided tenant advisory services to a client base that included SunTrust-Robinson Humphrey, Beam Interactive and Relationship Marketing, Margolis and Boom LLP, Adelson Loria & Weisman PC, BA Insight, Big Sister of Greater Boston, Samaritans , Cheap Flights, Dell Mitchell architects and HNTB Engineering. His responsibilities also included landlord work for D. L. Saunders Real Estate Corp., Boston Wharf Company and individual investors.

Before joining GVA Thompson Hennessey and Partners, Bean worked for RELocate, a predecessor of CoStar, that tracks commercial real estate information for various clients including users, institutional and local investors and commercial real estate service providers.
