WASHINGTON, DC—Property management firm Brailsford & Dunlavey has been selected by the District's convention and sports authority to draft a master plan for RFK Memorial Stadium.
The selection of the Washington, DC-based firm comes about eight months after Events D.C. announced it wanted to redevelop a portion of the 80-acre RFK Memorial Stadium campus.
Terms of the deal were not released. Events D.C. notified Brailsford & Dunlavey of its selection as the winner of the master plan contract in an Aug. 15th letter, according to the Washington Business Journal.
The 52-year-old stadium is in disrepair and led professional soccer team D.C. United to begin talks with the District to build a new stadium at Buzzard's Point.
The selection of Brailsford & Dunlavey was the result of process that began last November when Events D.C issued a request for expressions of interest. The solicitation eventually drew a wide level of interest. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
