ATLANTIC CITY, NJ—Caesars Entertainment confirms that on Tuesday afternoon it conducted a tour of its soon to be shuttered Showboat Casino Hotel to an “interested party.”

The Las Vegas-based gaming concern, although it would not reveal the identity of the interested party, says the party expressed interest in the facility that is scheduled to close this Sunday.

Company spokesman Gary Thompson told the Associated Press, "We continue to review inquiries from potential purchasers and, in fact, are conducting a tour of the property with an interested party today. Not much more I can say at this point, as things can change very quickly."

In addition to the Showboat, Revel and Trump Plaza are also expected to close their doors in the next few weeks.

Atlantic City Mayor Don Guardian says he knows of no potential developments that would prevent Showboat from shutting down Sunday, or that would alter Revel's  shutdown on Sept. 1 and 2. Trump Plaza is set to close on Sept. 16. See story in the Press of Atlantic City.
