ATLANTIC CITY, NJ—Despite some expressions of interest in the property, the curtain will close on the Showboat Casino Hotel's run here this weekend.

Katie Daugherty, a spokeswoman for Caesars Entertainment, told The Associated Press Wednesday that the casino would close at 4 p.m. Sunday. The definitive closing date and time came after Caesars officials conducted a tour of the Showboat on Tuesday afternoon with "an interested party" they would not identify.

Caesars, which announced the planned closure of the Showboat in June, has stated that it was fielding offers from interested parties and would consider a sale.

In addition to the Showboat, Revel is winding down operations on Monday and Tuesday, while Trump Plaza is scheduled to close on Sept. 16. See story in The Inquirer.
